Info

Today we’re visiting Cumberland Island, the largest and southernmost barrier island in Georgia, south-east United States. The island is just over 28 kilometres long and has been declared a national seashore due to its unusual wildlife. Here you will find white sandy beaches and dunes, oak and pine forests, salt marshes and freshwater lakes. This diversity of ecosystems allows for a large variety of plants and animals, including armadillos, wild boars and American alligators. It is also famous for its feral horses roaming free on the island.
